Shipping Clerk2nd shift:Job Summary: To properly prepare and transport material in a way that insures accurate, on-time deliveries to our customers. (Training on 1st shift 8:00 am - 4:30 pm) Job Duties:
Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse
Complete necessary paperwork by entering into computer to ship materials
Verify all skids are packaged properly. This includes that day’s shipments, make and holds and jobs for future, etc.
Communicate with carriers picking up orders
Prepare the material to ship out to customers. Protect the material on all sides using shrink-wrap. Strap material to the skid using banding and tensioner.
Prepare material for export using special export skids and cutting necessary wood.
Transport and organize material to prepare for shipping
Load outbound trucks matching carriers with correct assigned orders.
Must be willing to work in other departments and/or areas and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
High School diploma and/or equivalent and one year of related experience
Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
Must have tow motor experience and be able to successfully complete tow motor certification training
Exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
Must possess good problem solving skills
Ability to interact in a professional manner with coworkers, other departments, and vendors.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Basic computer skills
Willingness to work as team member or independently
Must be able to read a tape measure
Must be able to lift up to 50#’s
Must be able to read a micrometer
Must be able to stand for 8 hours with some bending and lifting involved
