Warehouse Associate – Steel DistributionPay Rate: $20/hour Shift: 7:00 AM – Until work is complete (typically around 4:30 PM) Pay Week: Monday–Sunday Payday: Weekly, every Friday Start Date: After offerJob SummaryThe Warehouse Associate supports daily operations in a steel distribution facility, including handling materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position involves heavy physical labor and the use of industrial equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and saws. Training is provided.Responsibilities
Move, load, and unload steel materials and equipment using forklifts, side loaders, or cranes.
Pull and assemble customer orders based on work or shipping orders.
Tag materials for identification and ensure documentation accuracy.
Operate plate saws, band saws, order pickers, side loaders, overhead cranes, and semi-auto banding machines.
Assist with inventory management, restocking, and general warehouse upkeep.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Perform spot checks on inventory and report irregularities to the supervisor.
Follow all safety and quality standards as required by company policy.
Physical Requirements
Heavy Work: Ability to exert up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
Must be able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach.
Must be able to push/pull, use hands/fingers to handle materials, and perform repetitive motions.
Must have clear vision and hearing for communication and safety.
Work Environment
Warehouse and/or field setting.
Exposure to mild-to-high temperature environments.
Requires use of steel-toed boots and adherence to dress code: jeans with no tears, rips, or offensive language/graphics.
Qualifications
0–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/training.
Previous warehousing or material handling experience preferred.
Must be able to speak and understand English for safety purposes.
Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Basic math and measurement skills, including the ability to calculate decimals and fractions.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
